About the Role
We are looking for experienced scientists to join our Strain Development team to improve protein expression in microorganisms. You will be responsible for developing a strain improvement strategy and engineering strain for industrial production processes. You will also collaborate with a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Develop strain improvement strategies.
Design and construct DNA expression and genome editing, analyze and improve of strain performance.
Conduct experiments and analyze data to assess growth conditions and protein expression of microbes.
Optimize metabolic and secretory pathway to maximize protein expression yield.
Develop a documentation system such as protocols, SOPs, and reports.
qualifications
M.S./Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Microbial Genetics, or related fields with a minimum of 2 years of research experience.
Strong technical expertise in strain engineering, strain screening, methodologies, and related tools, as well as proficiency in microbial genetic engineering and molecular biology lab work.
A thorough knowledge of both prokaryotic and eukaryotic protein synthesis and secretion pathways in order to develop strategies for regulating and optimizing organisms' abilities to overexpress targeted proteins.
Experience with mass spectrometry/HPLC applications in at least one of the following areas is preferred: metabolic flux analysis, proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, or biomarker quantitation.
Be able to analyze data and display scientific creativity.
Ability to work independently as well as excellent organizational and planning skills are required. Eagerness to work collaboratively on a team of experts while adapting to the fast-paced needs of an early-stage startup.
Flexibility in working hours as required by experiments.
Good in English, both reading and writing.
